THE BOTTLE

MEXICO HAS BEEN SHAPING EARTH FOR THREE THOUSAND YEARS. OUR BOTTLES ARE BORN OF THAT MEMORY, IN A WORKSHOP IN THE STATE OF HIDALGO FOUNDED IN 1920, MORE THAN A CENTURY OF CERAMIC CRAFTSMANSHIP PASSED DOWN FROM ONE GENERATION OF ARTISANS TO THE NEXT.
HAND AND FIRE
EACH BOTTLE IS CONCEIVED AS A WORK OF ART, A PIECE TO COLLECT, NOT CONSUME. ITS SILHOUETTE WAS DRAWN AT THE MEETING POINT OF TWO WORLDS:THE EMBOSSED FAÇADES OF HAUSSMANNIAN PARIS, WHERE LIGHT CARVES ITSELF INTO STONE, AND THE TIERED PYRAMIDS OF ANCIENT MEXICO, RISING TOWARD THE DIVINE. HERE, THAT SAME ASCENT RISES TOWARD THE SPIRIT.

THE RELIEF
A SILHOUETTE OF ITS OWN
KAOLIN, FELDSPAR, QUARTZ, POURED BY HAND INTO PLASTER MOLDS, TRIMMED AND SANDED PIECE BY PIECE. FIRED AT TEMPERATURES CALIBRATED TO THE DEGREE. THE EXACT CURVE THAT DECIDES THE GLAZE'S SHINE AND SHAPE. EVERY DECORATION PAINTED BY HAND, ONE BRUSHSTROKE AT A TIME.

THE SILHOUETTE
THE MARK OF THE HAND
NO TWO BOTTLES ARE THE SAME. A SHADE, A THICKNESS, A StROKE Of THE BRUSH, EACH ONE CARRIES THE HAND THAT MADE IT.THE KIND OF PERFECTION NATURE HAS ALWAYS PRACTICED. THE KIND NO MACHINE CAN FAKE.

Mexico’s ancient temples: architecture built to rise, tier by tier, toward the divine.
